Prior to this, I'd only eaten at Marrakesh, that sorry excuse for Moroccan food. So, on this trip, we decided to attempt Tokyo Dining - after all, all four of us love sushi. We got in with no wait (on a Sunday around 3pm) and were seated near the sushi chefs (which was great, because it's fun to watch). Our waitress was exceedingly kind and smiley, and very attentive (without being overly so). The sushi was mediocre compared to what you get in most Boston sushi bars, but probably amazing for your average Midwesterner.

It's okay and definitely in the realm of fast food. The sushi is prepackaged and the curry wasn't the greatest but it made do for the moment.

Pricey, even by Disney standards, but the food is OH SO Good that I can't help but give it 4 stars. The grilled chicken sounds standard but it is prepared so well. My son raved about the smoked salmon roll. Service was good and we were able to watch Illuminations from the restaurant. They dimmed the lights and piped in the music.

We went to Toyko Dining last night with friends that are in town from OH. My husband and I have been to Teppan Edo before and it's in the same building. We are not normally sushi people but this is the place our friends chose. We ordered the panko oysters for an appetizer and they were very tender and good. The panko was very crispy and light. The sauce it came with was very good. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food! My husband tried 4 different kinds of sushi and he liked 3 out of 4. We shared the Ginza box and it was good to share. Not a overwhelming a lot of food but a good amount. The tempura was light and crispy. The nigiri was very tender and light. Overall, very good. One person in our party got the rainbow roll and liked it and the other one got panko chicken and really liked that too. We did get a little side of the "volcano sauce" to help ease us into the sushi taste and it was very very good!! I would get that with whatever I get there again. Overall, very good and everyone seemed to like their food. Very good service and I would go again!!

Based on the other reviews, were overall disappointed. Overall: 3/5-due to quality of slow service (though authentic Japanese) Food: 3.8/5-seafood was excellent though my wife's tuna steak had some tough spots; my Bento Box was ok, some good, some bad Atmosphere: 4.5/5 - upstairs, simple, fun Service: 4/5- slow but effective; she seemed to have too many slow high maintenance tables Kids (14 year old and 10 year old) food was ok as well. Sushi, California Rolls were well received.

This was a surprisingly good Japanese restaurant. The restaurant decor is super cool, the view outside with the trees felt like we were actually in Japan. Sushi was delicious and so was my tuna steak entrée. This is the place to eat at Epcot.

I really was excited for this restaurant, but was left disappointed. My family and I came to the restaurant at 5:30 and had a reservation at 6:20, and the restaurant was packed. So I knew we weren't going to be seated quickly, no blame there. However, as time went on, people in larger groups who just arrived with no reservation were seated rather quickly. I don't know if this is due to the way the restaurant was organized. We got to our table at around 6:50, and the service was fairly quick. However the food was okay, and had some odd combos. For example, the rice had butter mixed into it and if you took a big chunk of it, it would taste unappealing. For this food, the price was high, but this is Disney World, I suppose it's expected.

When I was a kid and my parents took me to Epcot, I remember passing by Japan and seeing all of those happy diners in the window in the sky. I always asked my dad if we could eat there but the cheap ass said it was too expensive. I still have no idea why people bother going to the crappy restaurants in the Disney parks. You still end up paying a fortune for a counter service hamburger and fries. You might as well take a load off and enjoy a nice sit down meal. Tokyo Dining is probably one of the better places to eat at Disney. We were able to get a table without reservation a little before 7PM. I think most people want to eat at the hibachi steakhouse but that's fine with me. The service here is courteous and native Japanese. You really won't find any exotic rolls here, they are pretty standard American sushi restaurant fare. However, the quality is good and the prices are not bad at all. The Volcano Roll and Spicy Tuna Philly rolls definitely exceeded my expectations and were pretty yummy. The best part of this place though is the BOOZE. After a long day of Epcot, mommy and daddy need a break. The Green Tea martini on the rocks is delicious and STRONG. As expected the Disney service here was phenomenal. Without mentioning a thing, the staff came over and sang happy birthday to our daughter and brought her a cake. They must have noticed her Birthday button the ticket agent gave us. Pure class as always. Japan is definitely worth a stop in the world showcase if not just to have a meal at Tokyo Dining.

We love sushi, so of course we had to eat here while on vacation. Make reservations in advance for sure. The service is great. It seemed that all the staff was truly Japanese, which definitely added to the experience. The views of Epcot are amazing so request window seating!

Great food, great service, great atmosphere. It's authentic Japanese. Sushi is fresh, green tea is delicious and the vegetable tempura is a must. I am a repeat visitor and go on average 5 times a year.

This is an amazing place with an absolutely beautiful view. The food is to die for and the service is perfection! You must try the Pink Sake!

This place is horrendously overpriced. I'm shocked with all the good reviews because I had the opposite experience. The meat was dry, the sashimi is not fresh and now I'm worried about diarrhea. Please avoid at all cost unless you're willing to pay $30 each for subpar food.

Of all my dining experiences at our trip to Disney, Tokyo Dining was probably the most "Genuine". Granted, Epcot works hard to create these genuine experiences, but this one was pretty successful. The location is excellent, especially at night. You can stick around and watch Illuminations: Reflections of Earth from your seat if you are lucky enough to get a window table. The location was very loud and very busy which detracted a bit from the experience. We had a large party and our waitress was new and seemed a bit discombobulated. She was very very nice though. The biggest downside was the volume level. It was very loud and we sometimes had to shout to be heard by others in our party. It wasn't the best Japanese food I've ever had, but I would never discourage anyone from coming here. It's Disney and you are looking for a Japanese Experience. You'll be happy and enjoy yourself.

"Nice restaurant - but AVOID THE SUSHI!" Tokyo Dining is a restaurant with nice atmosphere and very good service. And the vegetable tempura we ordered was very tasty as was the seaweed salad. I just wish someone had just flat out told us to avoid the sushi. The raw tuna and salmon were edible - but we're talking corner grocery pre-made sushi edible. Not even cheap Japanese restaurant quality never mind the sushi you might be lead into believing would be served given the decor and waitstaff. The rolls were slightly better...but only just. Flavorless ingredients wrapped in unvinegared rice covered in creamy sauces that tried to compensate for the lack in what lay beneath. And the tamago was hands down the worst I have ever been served. Lastly (and despite what the menu says) the 'Chu Hi' was the canned stuff not Shochu with fresh orange or lemon juice. Or at least the juice was certainly not fresh - the Lemon Chu Hi tasted like alcoholic lemon lime soda and the Orange Chu Hi like Shochu with canned OJ. Stick to the sake.

A few of us really wanted sushi, so we went to Tokyo Dining which had a 30 minute wait, and it was worth it. Had miso soup ,which was fantastic, the volcano roll and the green tea cheesecake. All the food was great and the service was impeccable. Food-5/5 Service -5/5 Atmosphere-4/5

Service was attentive. It was really loud. The sushi was some of the sloppiest put together sushi I have ever had, one step below grocery store sushi.

Delicious!! If you love Japanese food I would definitely suggest coming here. I have eaten lots of tempura and this has to be the best I have ever had, not greasy and super light batter. This restaurant also has all the basics you need to satisfy your cravings, wonderful staff and quality food. For sure coming back!

I've been here a couple times over the years during my visits to Epcot and both experiences were positive. Climbing the stairs to the restaurant is worth it especially for a late dinner so you can watch the fireworks with a great view. If you get a seat by the window, the view can't be beat. The service is consistently on top of it and the wait tends to be shorter than other neighboring restaurants. The sake sampler is a great thing to try, especially for those that have not tried sake and are interested in trying different flavors/styles. I've only ever gotten the sushi rolls so can only speak to those...all of them that I've tried were really good. This is my go-to stop for Japan.

BF and I tried this place out when we were looking for some Asian restaurant to have dinner on one of the days we were visiting Disney World. This place is located in EPCOT, upstairs in the Japanese area (well, duh...!) We got seated right away and our waiter was good. We got the Chicken Katsu ($24.95) which came with rice, and a few sides. We also tried one of their sushi (forgot which one), but it was yummy! I'd go back to this place if I ever come back and want some Asian food! :)

They have lunch specials until 4:30pm for $19 per person. I got the bento box (see photo) and it included ice cream! The food was great, especially the beef. The staff were very friendly and attentive. I think the price is fair for the amount of food at Disney and I would definitely come back.

Saw a review on Yelp and could not resist trying on our trip to Orlando. My in-laws live in Cocoa Beach so we travel to and fro... we had a blast. The food was good, but the reason for the 5 stars is the atmosphere.. It was awesome!!!

  • Des M.

Love the bento boxes! You can tell they were made fresh but My boyfriend ordered assorted tempura and when we got them, we are disappointed, not bec of taste but the serving, they gave us ONE shrimp, ONE chicken, ONE sweet potato and ONE zucchini for 9.99$. So i guess when people say don't eat inside disney, this is what they meant..

This is consistently one of my favorite Disney World eating establishments located in Epcot. I never thought Sushi and Mickey Mouse would be a good combination. I have eaten here several times now, and have never had a bad experience. The service and ambience are five star, and I would say overall the food is three to four star. I actually like the sushi better than non sushi related items. If you reserve in advance be sure to ask for one of the tables by the windows overlooking the lake in Epcot. It has a great view, and is a beautiful spot for watching the sunset. No trip to Disney World is the same without a stop here. I have always left here with a happy tummy and a smile on my face.

Came and enjoyed the Annual Food and Wine festival. Made reservations for this establishment while on the spaceship earth ride. At the appointed time, made the way past the crowds of revelers to the restaurant. Greeted at the door even though long line of people waiting for a table. Seated in minutes thanks to the reservation. When bringing my party to the tables the staff bowed to us as we passed. The waiters were very courteous and seemed to know the menu. Beer selection is limited, but included at least three Japanese brand beers, including the tall Kirin on tap which i chose. Menu includes fresh sushi. the selection of types of sushi were smaller than other Japanese restaurants, but did include the popular ones i usually order. The smaller menu can be good sign, in that since the restaurant has fewer dishes to remember, each dish is more likely to be fresh and properly prepared when there is a crowd. I ordered the chicken which was well cooked and well seasoned. The tereyaki sauce was in a small cup on the side, which I preferred, because i used the amount to my taste. For dessert, I had the green tea cheese cake . Good, with raspberry drizzle. One minus, the waitress charged us for two extra cheesecakes, but i belive it was just an oversight. Overall, good food, great plating/presentation and will repeat. Took off a star for the mistake of the wait staff in overcharging.

Once again, we were very pleased with our dining experience here. It was only our second time here. The dinner we had here about a year ago was fabulous. We each had a bento-style dinner. My husband loved his dish with the special smoked salt. Chicken karaage is delicious--crispy, moist and full of flavor!! Their dessert of chocolate ginger cake is to die for. This time, we had lunch here, and we ordered sushi. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of fish! Prices = moderate to expensive. They're well worth the money. Service = traditional Japanese and they dote upon you. They also greet you at the door, and then they all say goodbye to you too. Seating = simple seats with plenty of windows (natural lighting). Oh, and they have the cutest Japanese monorail tray for the kids' meals. We asked to see if we could obtain one in 2012, but alas, it's only for their use! This is at EPCOT's Japan, and you should make reservations, for dinner moreso than lunch.

After many visits to the Teppan location through the years, we decided to try Tokyo Dining, which is a newer location. (It used to be two venues - a dark tempera bar and a lounge-type place; a remodel combined them and brightened the area up significantly.) We had dinner reservations here on a Friday evening ... got here early and were seated right away. And we have a winner -- a new favorite that we will come back to again and again. Excellent, well-paced service, creative options, and lots of things I want to try. Oh, and the sake-rita. Oh, my dear, the sake-rita. Smooth, tasty and downright dangerous. Perhaps next time we will remember and show restraint so we can remember more of the rest of the evening...

Fantastic hibachi grill and show! Very high class and fine dining feel. The kids loved it and so did the parents! Many options steak, chicken, shrimp and veggie only. Kids ate the chicken with delight. We had steak and shrimp...melt in your mouth goodness. Chef was funny and very animated. Great food and show!

Stars: 4 - Atmosphere 3 - Food 5 - Service and Cast Members We really like the whole experience. The staff is all Japanese ladies! We didn't see one Japanese male working at this restaurant. They were great cast members, authentic and we learned a little about them. Our server being from Akita, Japan. The food was just OK however. The sushi was OK and the dinner entree was nothing to write home about. Again a second restaurant we found at the World Showcase a bit underwhelming in the culinary prep and execution. However the saving graces are the cast members, atmosphere, and experience. Some of the specialty rolls looked good and with some beverages I'm sure it was fine but other than the atmosphere and cast members, the food was forgettable. We sat at sunset with a view of the lake and Japanese gateway and behind us was a lush green area and they would allow some fake mist to flow through which was really cool. If they increase the quality of their food, such as use the lighter and more delicate tempura frying methods, add a little modern flourish to their entrees, and keep making the good specialty rolls, this place has a lot of potential.

Since we are such huge sushi nuts, we knew we had to start our day at EPCOT with sushi lunch at the Japan pavilion. We walked up inside the BEAUTIFUL building and were greeted by very sweet and enthusiastic hostesses wearing kimonos. We sat near the windows and got a beautiful view of World Showcase. We ordered four sushi rolls, the volcano roll, the dynamite roll, grilled salmon roll, and the spicy crunch roll (I think). The presentation was BEAUTIFUL! The sushi chefs really had an eye for plating their dishes. You know the saying, "You eat with your eyes first." We certainly did! The volcano roll was delicious, spicy, but not too spicy. The dynamite roll had a nice kick to it with the wasabi mayonnaise that was drizzled on top. I liked the grilled salmon roll, it was interesting to have cooked fish on sushi but I liked the nice smoky flavor. For the four rolls, it was about $40-something without my Cast Member discount and with the added gratuity, so VERY affordable! What Boyfriend and I really liked about Tokyo dining was the ambiance and atmosphere. It was very quiet in the middle of the day (about 12:30-1?) and there were very few children and families in there. If you venture further into Tokyo dining, there is more of a Japanese steakhouse where they cook hibachi style which had lots of families and was very loud. Nothing wrong with that, everything looked and smelled amazing, but we wanted to take it down a notch on this day at EPCOT. Definitely recommended for adults who love Japanese cuisine and want to avoid the hustle and bustle of Disney restaurants that cater more to families.

Came to Tokyo Dinning for my birthday dinner at Epcot. I had a birthday pin on and everyone said happy birthday to me many times. Everyone was very friendly. We asked to be seated next to a window seat but they where all full but still got a table close to the window. View was very pretty and nice to watch the people moving around. We made sure to make reservations prior to our trip. We where expecting a more relaxed, quiet, dinning experience but it was noisy and a bit crowded. No where near as crowded as the Hibachi rooms where though! WOW! The bathrooms where a far walk from our seating and even past the other dinning area for hibachi. They REALLY needed to be cleaned. Smelled, paper all over, and the garbage cans where over flowing. Definitely NOT something I expect from a Disney park. This, for me, was the worst part of the restaurant. The food was very good though. I had a breaded potato type side dish and it was great. Chicken with teriyaki sauce was very good and when I asked for more sauce they gladly gave me some. The rice did not have much flavor though which, was disappointing. Veggies where excellent. My husband had sushi (one was an eel roll) and he said it wasn't bad but wasn't the best sushi hes ever had. I thought the menu was a little limited but I believe that is how most on site places are due to the high number of guests. They surprised me by brining out a slice of chocolate ginger cake and singing to me without anyone asking. They just saw my birthday pin and did this. What a nice, genuine gesture! The cake was great too :) Prices where fair from what I saw. Four 4 of us including 2 drinks and an appetizer it was only a little over $120. The edemame was served cold, and we where used to room temperature. The fast paced, noisy restaurant didn't match the serene, shyness, of the waitresses. They placed everything on the table so delicately and precisely; like a ceremony. I could have enjoyed that if I wasn't seated so closely to all the other noisy sweaty guests. I would definitely recommend that Epcot upgrade this to have more quiet lighting and private booths, perhaps even with curtains to make sure this is a relaxing experience as that is what it seems most guests that come here are looking for. but really, if you take it for what it is, its on site at a Disney park. there are screaming kids, its hot, theres a lot of people. if you understand that and enjoy the food, its a great place. Everything here are just things I would suggest or think would really create the mood people are looking for. Also, I believe the kids menu has an item where they serve it to you in a little bullet train tray which was adorable. I would definitely eat here again! The staff was extremely nice and accommodating and we left full and happy.

Very happy that we were able to get a reservation the day we arrived at epcot, while on site in the morning (Disney dining help desk on the phone). Excellent food, service, and atmosphere. Polite pleasant waitress. I had the Ginza meal. All of which was delicious. Husband had the bento box. Also all delicious. The "Japanese" martinis were a little sweet for our taste, but they were good and we wanted something unusual.

This was our first trip to Disney World so coming to Epcot we would've liked to try all the flavors of the world, but 4 days was just NOT enough time to experience it all :(. My boyfriend booked our dinner reservation here for 7pm and we still were able to get a good spot to watch the show at 9pm. (But we just got really lucky, so I suggest you eat a bit earlier if you're planning to watch the show) The service was good and the food was decent, but I still feel the Japanese food back home is better. We chose Japanese food to be safe. I didn't want us to make reservations to eat foods that we might not even like. Snacks here and there I would've been okay with trying different foods, but not our biggest planned meal. Anyways, I thought it was really cool how each country/place had people that are actually from that country/place working there! So, all the people at this restaurant were speaking Japanese. On another note though, we could barely understand our waitress LOL. So my bf and I just kept nodding our head as if we understood. Would we come here again? Perhaps. But I definitely would want to try something else if we ever came to Epcot again.

I booked our lunch reservations about a week in advance before reading any reviews, I was just excited to go and be in the only part of Disney that would remind me of home! The service started at the booth down stairs in front of Miyuki. The lady at the booth was super friendly, informative and attentive. She remembered me 3 hours later when we came back for our reservation time! When we entered the restaurant, it was immediate service, IDENTICAL to the service you would receive at ANY restaurant in Japan. We were greeted by EVERY SINGLE SERVER as we entered the space and my husband and I were overwhelmed with nostalgia. We were seated immediately. When our waitress came to the table she introduced herself and explained everything on the menu. She was thorough, educated and knew answers to every question we could have asked. She made small talk with us and she was so friendly it felt like we knew her forever! My husband ordered the tonkatsu and I ordered the vegetable tempura. It was all prepared wonderfully. It was super authentic Japanese food for a reasonable price! I truly was floored with our experience here, and we left talking about it alllll week. We raved to all our family and friends and would recommend it to EVERYONE. If you're looking for a place to eat at EPCOT, do not HESITATE TO book Tokyo Dining. JUST DO IT, YOU WILL HAVE NO REGRETS!

Sushi at the Epcot center in a huge Japanese castle with a gorgeous view of a lake on a hot afternoon with Japanese drummers beating their tune and a Japanese gift shop downstairs loaded with authentic gifts? How can it get better? Had the lunch special which consisted of an appetizer, chirashi, and ice cream. Yummy break during the day.

As my friends and I walked thru Epcot the other night, we all started to look for a place to eat. Normally we do counter service since we never know how many friends will show up for these last minuet drinking parties. We can never really plan for a sit down place, but we took a chance and asked the hostess outside if they had room for 8 people... she did! So we went inside and hung out for about 2 min before they sat us. The service was very good and they were able to explain many of the menu choices to us. Some of our party had sushi while others had tempura. I decided to try a Bento Box sampler.... a fun box that has four different samples of Japanese cooking. It only took about 15 min for our food to arrive and everything was great! The sushi lovers loved their sushi and said it was some of the best they had in a long time. My Bento Box was very good too! It included some Tempura shrimp and vegetables, 4 California rolls, a pork dish, and some chicken and salmon. This all came with white rice and a small bowl of miso soup. It was a lot of food for me and it was around $25. Everything was hot and tasted great. I did not hear anybody complain about any of the food or service. After we were done, the bill came and I was surprised to find out that the couple that had arranged for this party at Epcot had paid for our meals! What a nice surprise! After the bill was paid, we all sat around talking and soon discovered that the manager came over to make sure everything was all right... but in reality, she was kind of asking us to go.... she did it in a very nice way but we realized that yes, she needed the table and it was time to go! LOL... We had a very nice time and I do recommend Tokyo Dining for a fun and tasty lunch or dinner! Enjoy!

Food is mediocre. Service is five stars! Feels like you're dining in japan with such courteous service. We picked this place only because it was recommended for watching the fireworks. There are a few tables by the ceiling to floor windows that you can watch the fireworks in comfort. Remember to ask for those tables if you're dining there around 8pm. (Fireworks start at 9pm). Make reservations & yes, they do want your credit card number to secure your table. If you don't show up or cancel, there's a penalty of $10 per person!

Not bad for Japanese food in Orlando, FL. The hamachi wasn't the best but I'd stand by this restaurant as giving a good try for being authentic. The waiter was from Japan and doing a two month rotation for the company Misukoshi which had a market downstairs. This place gets filled up quickly so I would book a reservation on the Disney website. We had the bento box, tuna steak, rainbow roll and tempura roll. Basically, everything was good but being in a theme park a bit overpriced.

I just can't help myself. Went back 2 days ago with my parents again ( 6 weeks this winter in FL but they are NOT snowbirds according to them....must be because they go to Mexico for a month after that) Service 5 stars as always, with a lot of bowing. Location, got a window table over looking Epcot lagoon...5 stars. Food? Went into a semi food coma after the Tempura combo again. Almost didn't make to to Illuminations. Still my fav place at Epcot. Realize I am fair. Each time I come, I eat here and onr other place!

I wanted to come here because I wanted some food that was not burgers/fries while we were in the theme parks.. and because I love sushi :) We got the chirashi from the lunch special menu and the volcano roll. We also get the edamame and vanilla ice cream with the lunch special. Food was fine... I guess it was decent for being in the parks but I definitely wouldn't want to eat here if I was at home and had a choice of other sushi places. My volcano roll was okay, but the tempura pieces weren't very crispy. I did like that they used a piece of imitation crab with a bit of mayo in the rolls instead of the usual overly mayo-ed imitation crab bits. The chirashi had a lot of different fish and the rice was pretty good, but it wasn't the best fish. I was also kind of sad that they didn't have green tea ice cream on the menu, the vanilla ice cream we got was soft serve. The service here was excellent though!! Our waitress checked in with us many times and was very friendly the entire meal, and other members of the wait staff were really helpful and nice too!

Sushi was good but not great. We went here after a long day at Epcot. Making a reservation ahead of time is key as you may not be able to get in otherwise. After showing up we maybe waited 10 minutes or so then were seated. The windows of the restaurant overlook the lake so if you get one close to the windows, I imagine you can watch the fireworks that evening if you get there late enough. The wait-staff was friendly and helpful as I would expect from a Disney restaurant. Food was good but not great. I've definitely had better sushi, but by no means was this bad. I would come back here again. Prices were adequate and as expected.

After spending a full day at the Epcot Center in the thunder storm, we dine inside the park last Saturday after 8pm. We were refused service at the Bistro de Paris, so we came here to try our luck. This time I take off my poncho and clean myself up before walking up to the reception. The wait was less than 10 minutes. We ordered these: Hot sake $8 Sushi combo dinner $20 Tonkatsu combination $24 Rainbow roll $13 The service is good although our Japanese waitress does not speak fluent english . The sushi is ok but not as fresh and well made as I hope. The tonkatsu is way overpriced for the portion and quality we received. Overall: service 4 food 3 ambience 4 price 3

We headed over to Tokyo Dining for some birthday dinner action, and overall, we were fine with the experience. I'll break it down in typical fashion now (and the beat dropeth): Food: I would rate the food 3 out of 5 stars. I had the Bento box and the Eel roll, and while the eel roll was pretty good, the rest of the Bento box was just so-so. It was lacking distinct flavor, unfortunately. It wasn't bad...it was just okay. We also tried the Kagaare for a starter (basically they're tempura-fried chicken nuggets), and they actually were really good! As far as selection goes, there were a number of sushi options from rolls, sashimi, and nagiri to tempura fried options. There were even options for those that do not like sushi or seafood (like my BF), such as grilled chicken and a sirloin steak. Atmosphere: It's a great little place with nice seating options, a big video screen on the far wall with some very zen scenes floating on the screen. The lighting is great, and the focus is on the sushi prep station which makes it fun to watch. Overall, it's not terribly quiet, so don't expect an intimate, romantic setting. Then again, does anyone really go to a sushi restaurant for romance? Service: The staff were INCREDIBLY NICE and accommodating. They took very good care of us throughout the service. They were prompt at refilling drinks and making sure we had everything we needed. They checked in multiple times to ensure the food was to our liking, and (since it was my birthday), they brought out a delicious slice of cake and sang to me at our table. Loved the staff! Overall, I'd say it's a nice place to dine, but don't go expecting to be knocked off your seat by the food. It's good, it's just not amazing, and for the price, one kind of wants amazing. :)

I ate here for lunch on a Friday while "drinking our way around the world." So sushi seemed like the best meal to counteract all the alcohol. Plus my hubby and I LOVE to try new sushi places. I had reservations for 1:30 and when we arrived we did not have to wait to be seated. We were one of three tables in the sushi bar area. We ordered saki, edamame and a variety of sushi. Fresh and decent but overall average. No standout rolls. Service was friendly and fast. Atmosphere is relaxing and tge store underneath is awesome. Overall, I would not go back. It was just average, not a Neal to remember and since Disney is full of places that provide memorable meals I will pass this one next time. The best sushi we had at WDW was at the Wokfgang Puck Cafe at Downtiwn Disney!

We popped into Tokyo Dining last minute and were so excited that they had room for us. The service here is unbelievably dedicated and supremely thoughtful. I can't imagine going back to WDW and not visiting this location. Our tempura appetizers were perfectly prepared and sizzling hot. The miso soup was perfectly seasoned, and our entrees were delicious. Our window seat looked out over EPCOT's centerpiece lake and we were able to enjoy our meal as the sun set. Wonderful!!!

The service here was amazing. The food came out quickly and was plated perfectly. The sushi here is the best I have ever had. It was very fresh and was expertly prepared. Would recommend highly and I will come back if I ever return to Epcot.

We booked this place as part of our Candlelight Processional package and it was absolutely phenomenal. Tokyo Dining is located on the water-facing side of the restaurant and you can watch the sunset over the World Pavilion, making for a nice atmosphere. I cannot speak for the prices, as our package was pre-paid at a specific price-point. The food was superb! Our package included an appetizer, entree, dessert, and soda per person. The edamame is served cold and tastes great. The bento box includes fresh fish pieces, steak that literally melts in your mouth, tempora that is light on the fried outside that doesn't feel "heavy", and four california rolls. I've had sushi over the years - this one takes the cake in regards to quality and taste. The wait staff is wonderful. The girls take care of your every need and you feel like you're actually in Japan! I highly recommend for anyone going to the World Pavilion to eat here because you cannot miss. BTW - for Illuminations, stand to the right of the red arch in Japan (just outside Tokyo Dining). We got there at 905, no crowd, and it was a PERFECT view of the show. :)

I ate here with my boyfriend for dinner on our visit to Epcot. I was unaware of the time Epcot was closing so I didn't realized our reservation was right when the park was closing and the fireworks were starting. To our luck, we were seated t at a window table 10 minutes before the show began. We had an amazing view and they turn the music down and pull up the audio from the show. It was wonderful. Aside from that the food was amazing. I got a larger version of a California roll with a wasabi sauce. They also served miso soup the "authentic way" where you drink from a cup-no spoon. We ordered this tuna sashimi with truffle oil and it was amazing. I have never had anything so tasty in my live. Even my boyfriend who doesn't like raw fish loved it. At the end of our meal our server who saw our anniversary pins came out with a slice of cake and origami rings for us! This made for a wonderful memory. When we came out of the restaurant it was cool to see Epcot so empty. I suppose all of the fine dining restaurants stay open later and you can walk through the park when its closed. We were also able to see the fireworks from Hollywood studios as we were heading out. 5 stars great place!

Their $19.99 meal deal cannot be beat. The amount of food served was unreal, and it was all delicious. The hostess and the server were both very friendly. Our server took the time to show our daughter how to use chopsticks and she also wrote her name in Japanese. We liked this place very much and would recommend it.

We went here during our honeymoon to get our sushi-fix on, though in the end I didn't go for that. It is a very nice restaurant and the staff are some of the friendliest we've encountered in any of the restaurants down here. The menu had a mixture of sushi and cooked seafood. My wife, being the more adventurous one, got a sushi platter that came with over twenty different rolls, as well as sashimi and some other different things. She absolutely loved it. I played it a bit safer and got the grilled swordfish and i it was most-excellent. Some pretty super food with a great ambiance and even greater service. Definitely worth checking out!

5 star service + a few incredible food items + otherwise 3 star food = 4 stars overall. SERVICE: was INCREDIBLE! If you know anything about Japan, you will understand what I mean when I say this was top-notch, authentic Japanese service. The hostess was amazingly friendly and they were more forgiving than they should have been of our arriving 40 minutes after our reservation time. (They sat us within 5 minutes! And we're talking about Epcot the week of Christmas!) Our server was the epitome of cute - donned in her pink kimono, she was so polite, super smiley, and followed up every request we made with, "My pleasure!" When she brought us a food item, she would set it down and say, "Please enjoy!" This is Japanese quality meets Disney customer service - awesome. ATMOSPHERE: the restaurant is nice, but nothing super memorable. They do have a cool wall behind the sushi chefs that changes color every so often. That's pretty neat. FOOD: we LOVED the Sushi deluxe combo, particularly the eel. As sushi lovers, we can confidently say that eel was some of the best sushi we've ever tasted! Melt in your mouth delicious. Otherwise, the umagi and delicacy appetizers as well as the soft serve dessert were all solidly 3 stars - good, but not amazing. The green tea pudding, however, was light and insanely tasty. We would get that again in a heartbeat! Not sure we would go back here with all of the other World Showcase items, but it was a nice time either way.

The tempura was light and tasty. The Bento Box made it easy to try different flavors and not have to make yet another decision after a crazy day at the park. The sushi rolls are very large, fresh and tasty. We had 3 birthdays in our party of 4 and they brought out 3 slices of chocolate ginger cake with candles and sang to us all. It was lovely. It was nice to eat a civilized, healthy meal at Disney.

Service was great! View was awesome. Food however, was just okay. The sushi we had was NOT fresh; the sashimi was quite fishy smelling and tasting, although the texture was still okay. My favorite part of the experience however, was the happy birseday song the waitstaff sings for you :)

This was a fun lunch! We had reservations for the first lunch seating. We got there a couple minutes early to see the welcome that all the service staff do to open the restaurant it's a nice little ceremony. Our service was great and we had a wonderful seat right at the window looking out onto the world showcase. The food was good, but I might order differently the next time. Had fun trying new things.

Might be a Disney restaurant (at Epcot in "Japan" of the World Showcase), but the sushi is good, service is great, and chocolate ginger cake is legit.

Food was okay, great location. Great views of the, "Illuminations: Reflections of Earth," however can easily be obstructed by other tourists discovering the thin outdoor balcony. Reservations are strongly recommended during the peak summer months if you intend to eat here from 8pm on. (Call Disney Dining for reservations.) The sushi is not overwhelmingly fresh, and a few times I've eaten here, the Ika (Squid) was soggy and slimy rather than crunchy. The taste was also starting to go off to rotten. The portions are small, and the price is only justified for being within Disney. The decor is done extremely well giving the modern sleek look that Japan is known for in the cities, in contrast to the Edo traditional style on the outside. All employees with the exception of management are Japanese women. The men are usually found in the Teppan Edo hibachi restaurant, next door. They are all extremely pleasant and have wonderful manners. Food = 2 stars Service = 3 stars Decor/Location = 4 stars Bottom line, 3-stars, "A-Okay."

We went here once just to grab some appetizers to try out and sit in some air condition. When we went it was completely empty which was surprising for any eating establishment on Disney property. The waitress was very attentive and chatted with us a bit. We got a nice seat by the window so we were able to people watch while we dined. We just ordered the tempura appetizer (very good) and she let us order off the other restaurant in Japan's menu, too. Not sure if that is the norm or if she was just being extra nice to us! We had the sushi roll sampler from the other menu and that, too, was excellent. I haven't been back since the remodeling so I'm looking forward to giving it another try post renovations!

I love Tokyo Dining! I've eaten here three times so far and it's always been a wonderful experience. Sushi is one of my very favorite foods and I was totally impressed by the quality of the fish I got here. It was absolutely, perfectly fresh! The salmon nigiri was so fresh and creamy; it seemed to melt in my mouth. My fiancé and I also tried the philly roll, spicy tuna roll (this had a really delicious flavor) and a dynamite roll. It was all awesome. And definitely try the chocolate ginger cake for dessert! I thought about giving them 4 stars because of the limited menu- but the overall experience is a 5. The staff is super friendly, the space is very cute and modern (and some of the tables are perfectly situated for fireworks viewing!), and the fish is fresh and delicious.

This is by far my favorite restaurant at EPCOT. The service is excellent. With this being a world showcase location, it is staffed with employees from Japan wearing Kimonos and bowing as they great you. Most have very good English and can answer any questions about the menu. Like many of the locations at the world showcase, you will need reservations in advance...especially in high season. In low season, you may get a lunch seating the next day if you reserve thru the Disney dining on-line application. Ask for a window table and you will be on the second story overlooking the lake, which is a beautiful view. The menu features excellent sushi and wonderfully delicate tempura of vegetables and meats. We love the tempura combo of shrimp and scallops. There are also Bento Box selections. If you come at lunch, there area good combo options that include an appetizer and dessert selection in the price. They have a good selection of both hot and cold Saki. Don't miss the chocolate ginger cake. It is to die for lol - made with moist cake and chocolate ginger mouse between the layers and a generous covering of chocolate ganache. Just the thing to send you into a food coma after all the other yummy offerings. Many people go for the hibachi restaurant at EPCOT Japan pavilion, it is much more crowded, loud and touristy. Tokyo Dining is a hidden Gem at a very busy venue. We are drawn back again and again.

I've never experienced better service in my life. The hostess and our server were the most informative, patient, and knowledgeable people I have encountered this week in Orlando. The sushi is fresh and the edamame is cold, the way it's supposed to be served since it is their summer snack. The prices are a bit high, but nothing out of the Disney dining norm.

We were starving when we got here and needed to eat stat. Luckily, we were able to be seated within five minutes of our check-in with no reservations. Service was impeccable. We were greeted twice when we stepped in. The sushi chefs were all female which I've never seen before. The sushi was great! I ordered the spicy tuna, tempura roll and my husband ordered the sashimi platter and unagi roll. This place is fun and I will definitely be back. It seemed as if everyone was celebrating their birthday here too. There must have been up to 8 birthdays while we were dining.

What a great experience! Great food. Our sashimi sampler was fresh and we ended up getting more of it ;-) The Ankimo was incredible. Even my husband who won't try anything different loved it. Sampler Sashimi GREAT! Ankimo GREAT! Plum Wine Good Ebisu Combo (Chicken and Scallops) GREAT! Vegetable Tempura Combo with Veggie sushi Good This was a great meal overall. The only thing I'd suggest is to make sure to make reservations for around the time that the fireworks will be. If you have a reservation, they give you a window seat and you can watch the fireworks from your table (great view of the lake). Service is great and the restaurant is very clean. Our waitress Kaori was very pleasant and professional. Great Japanese hospitality!

Put your name down and then go wander around the Japan pavilion! That's the best advice I can give you. We went here (group of 5 adults) while in Epcot for a special function. We wandered over to Tokyo Dining which is on the 2nd floor above the main shopping in Japan. It was a 45-50 minute wait so we put our name down and went to do some other stuff. In that 50 minutes we were able to see the Taiko drums and the candy making. We shopped a bit and then headed back upstairs. At the urging of my colleagues (traveling with work mates) I went ahead and asked where we were on the list. The very sweet Japanese lady looked so confused. She couldn't find us. We had an electronic pager that hadn't gone off and told her. She looked at me, then pointed to a table of 5 old white people (I'm Japanese and gave a Japanese name for the reservation) and said that the table already seated was my group. I asked her politely did they look Japanese (referring to my last name that was on the reservation) and she said no politely. At this point a white woman (I thought everyone in the Japan pavilion was from Japan) came over and said that obviously there had been a mistake. She seated us at the next available table and then we saw her go speak to the impostor table. We were seated next to the sushi prep area. It was interesting to watch them make the sushi. All the meat was already cut, so they just formed the rolls or nigiri and placed the already cut meat into on or it. We had two different waitresses that were checking on us. One was totally grumpy and the other was super sweet. The tempura was good, the teriyaki chicken was very good, and the sushi was all average. Our service was ok, but we could have used our drinks filled at least once. This place isn't cheap! Be ready to dish out some $$. 3 stars for average but expensive Japanese food.

This place is good, although admittedly it's eclipsed by some of the other dining experiences nearby. It's a simple dining experience, more for a quick sit down rather than a dining experience but if all you want is good food without having to tip a waiter this place is probably the best option in Epcot. The chicken is okay but the sushi is better. Eat outside next to the waterfalls, it's a much nicer experience than eating at the sometimes cramped tables.

Decided to come here after a friend suggested it as one of the better places at EPCOT. I ordered the Dynamite Roll and I had hoped that the tuna, yellowtail, and salmon would be the sliced fish on each of the rolls however, to my disappointment the fish were in chopped pieces. The sushi was good but it wasn't fantastic. The salmon sashimi was very soft but i wished it was a little colder instead of room temperature. During our time there there was a demonstration on how to make sushi. I found that to be pretty cool. All the waitresses were very nice and were straight up from Japan. And Japanese means good service.

We popped in here one early evening to see if we could get in for dinner and were taken right in. The service was wonderful - everyone was so friendly and gracious throughout our entire meal. The sushi was phenomenal! We split a volcano roll, a tasty salmon roll, and the sashimi sampler. Everything was sooo fresh and delicious! By far the best meal we had for our entire trip. They had a nice saki selection and also brought out my boyfriend a piece of moist, delicious Japanese cake for his birthday. I would definitely return here!

If you're looking for a nice sit-down restaurant in the midst of all the carnival food that Disney parks offer, I would highly recommend checking out the restaurants in Epcot's World Showcase. My boyfriend and I were craving sushi, so decided to try out Tokyo Dining. My only criticism for this restaurant is that it's a bit difficult to find. There aren't really any signs outside that indicate that the restaurant is located upstairs of a gift shop. I'm continually impressed with Disney's authenticity when it comes to representing the various nations in World Showcase. All the waitresses were dressed in traditional Japanese garb and even greeted us in Japanese. It definitely contributed to the overall experience. If this restaurant were plucked out of the theme park and placed in the middle of a big city, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. The quality of food was superb as was the service.

**way way way NOT gluten-free friendly** This place *totally* sucked for me. I was looking forward to eating a high-grade sushi lunch, and I had to fight tooth-and-nail to get food I could eat. I had reservations for this place since *July*, so they knew I was coming, and they knew full well about my food allergies. They charged me double because they refused to accommodate my restricted diet (at a sushi place, this is NOT a hard thing to do). All I wanted was Chirashi, which is ~15 pieces of fish over rice. Pretty simple. Instead, I had to get the sashimi sampler and have it doubled, meaning it was twice as expensive, and there were only 3 kinds of fish, and it's the same kind of fish you can get *anywhere* like salmon and tuna. The manager lady (you have to talk to a manager every time you eat at any place if you have food allergies) was a total witch about the whole thing. When I finally got my fish, they didn't give me enough rice to go with it. When they did finally get me enough rice, it was *hot* (which it's not supposed to be for sashimi). When I finally got enough rice, they didn't give me a big enough plate for all of the food, and I had to show them which plate would be big enough. To add insult to injury, they gave me 'La Choy' soy sauce which didn't have wheat in it, but instead had 1160mg of sodium in it, which is about 200mg more than any other regular soy or wheat-free tamari sauce. No wheat-free tamari sauce at a high-class sushi joint? Are you fracking kidding me?! After all of that, it was just 'okay'. This whole experience sucked arse, and I couldn't wait to get out of there. They got *no* tip. I can't believe I had such an experience from a Disney restaurant. I'll never ever go back.

As soon as I found out I would be going to Epcot to celebrate my 22nd birthday, I immediately started browsing through all of the different restaurants the park has to offer in search of the perfect place to have a nice sit-down birthday dinner with my friend. As anyone knows, this can be a challenge when you're talking about theme park food. Sometimes you're just so focused on doing everything at the park that all you want is quick, crappy food. And other times it is simply hard to find a "decent" place to eat. Thankfully, Tokyo Dining ended up providing us with an elegant, modern atmosphere and amazingly delicious food. After looking over the menu for a few minutes (and sipping on some delicious iced green tea), my friend and I both decided to go with bento meals (combination of tempura and sushi) which was also served with miso soup, a small rice pasta salad, and white rice. We were both starving as we had been walking around the parks all day and had a light lunch, so at first I was concerned that the meal would be too light. But after having the tray of food placed in front of me, all of that concern was quickly wiped away. We both had more than enough food! After finishing our meals, we were both curious as to what Tokyo Dining would do for my birthday. And then about 5 minutes later a troupe of waitresses came out from the kitchen carrying a chocolate ginger cake while singing me Happy Birthday in Japanese! Did I also mention that our waitress was delightful? She was very attentive, making sure we were comfortable, our table was clean, and we had ample drink refills. And what's more, she even made me the cutest little origami birthday ring and gave it to me as a gift. Overall, I had an amazing time celebrating my birthday at Tokyo Dining and would highly recommend it. The only reasons I could see for someone not loving this restaurant would be if they didn't like sushi or tempura or if they were looking for a slightly less expensive alternative (most full meals are in the $20-$27 price range).

Whenever I visit Epcot (which is frequently thanks to my Florida Resident Annual Pass), I always stop in for dinner at Tokyo Dining. This restaurant has some of the best tempura and sushi in Florida. If you get an 8PM reservation, you may be lucky enough to get a seat by the window facing the lagoon for the nightly fireworks show as you're finishing your meal.

Like others have mentioned, the service was fantastic here but the food is just middle of the road. I really had high hopes for sushi at Epcot... I'm not sure why, but I just figured they had enough amazing chefs there to really come up with some "wow" type rolls. Sadly, nothing really stood out and the choice of vegetarian rolls for my friend was so basic I felt really bad for dragging her there. Really Disney, I know you can come up with a better menu than this when even my neighborhood dive sushi joint has more creativity!

Let me start off by saying the one thing that stands in clear contrast to every Sushi place I have ever been to, and I have been to plenty. This is the first and only Sushi place that had women as Sushi Chefs. And no it was not an anomaly since we ate there twice and both times were all female Sushi Chefs. Whether that is the reason the sushi was amazing I cannot say, but the food and service was great. We ordered Tempura that was crunchy on the outside and the veggies still had some crunch in the as well. The tempura sauce was thick and very tasty. The highlight was the sushi rolls, the Spicy Tuna Crunch roll was by far my favorite. It had the tempura on the inside of the roll with made for a much better experience than just rolling the roll on the tempura crumbs. The salmon we ordered was as fresh as I've seen. Great color and texture. One tip on hot day - ask for green tea cold. It really is delicious and unlike some places they just serve the hot green tea over ice so you get the same flavor with a lot of refreshment. Every server will offer you a fork. They are thoroughly impressed when you decline one. As for reservations, we had none. We waited 30 mins on a Fri night at around 7:30 pm and only 15 mins on a Sat afternoon around 4pm. It was the shortest wait at Epcot and unless you want a buffet probably the best meal. Also, all of the workers are from Japan. So say arigato and they will be appreciative.

Surprised at all of the great reviews on the site. The service is very good but the food is rather ordinary and very pricey even for Disney standards. The views are really nice to see the lagoon at Epcot. The beef steaks were fairly dry and lacking any distinctive taste. We should have known better than to order steaks from a Japanese restaurant. Sushi was good but nothing to write home about. Expected much better food given the great reviews. Btw, it's smaller counter service restaurant in the Japan paviliion is also quite average in quality and taste. However, it is a nice change from burgers and chicken nuggets served everywhere else in the parks. Happy eating.

Tokyo Dining is one of the better restaurants at Epcot's World Showcase, though it is not to be confused with Benihana-style Teppan Edo. This restaurant, overlooking World Showcase Lagoon, has flavorful sushi and impeccable service. I dined solo here yesterday, and I arrived at noon just as the restaurant was opening. The ceremony that the servers, chefs, and other staff performed was a very nice touch, as it referenced a Japanese tradition. I was seated promptly and had incredibly attentive service during my entire meal. I was provided with an oshibori, and I received a soft drink refill without even asking (indeed, before my first was even finished). I ordered the Spicy Tuna Roll and the Eel Nigiri. The spicy tuna roll was actually quite spicy, but it had a nice little crunch because of the tempura and scallions. The eel nigiri was melt-in-your-mouth good, as cooked eel should be, and it was complemented by just the right amount of accompanying sauce. The ambiance of the restaurant is modern East Asian with beautiful detailing and a neat picture wall with scenes from Japan. Though Teppan Edo gets all the glory, I highly recommend Tokyo Dining for table service within World Showcase. Book early!

Our meal did not get off to a good start with a 15 minute wait past our reservation time. And it did not get much better with a long wait to take our drink and food orders (the waitress said she would be "right back" soon after giving us menus but was not). I do think the manager walking around noticed our empty table and after that service improved with a second person helping out. Menu was limited for a Japanese restaurant (and we eat in a lot of them), and more limited than what was on the web so they may have cut back their offerings. The sushi we had was good but did not stand out in any way. The rolls had some odd combinations, All in all it is not a bad option for getting away from heavy Walt Disney World fare, but for the price should be better.

Fun experience and pretty good food for a theme park! Wife & I enjoyed dinner here on 9/16/10 -- reservations earned us a spacious table by the window. The most enjoyable part of dinner was our interaction with Megumi, the server, a sweet and charming young lady who was very gracious and friendly throughout. Our hats off to her! The food itself was pretty darn good -- but not great. Appetizers of kakuni (braised pork belly) and unagi (eel) were very good. However, our dinner order of craft sushi and "dynamite roll" was uneven in quality -- the fish did not sing out in freshness or taste. For a Disney World restaurant, the overall experience was fun and enjoyable. Keep your expectations reasonable, and you should be satisfied. The bill for our two moderate meals and two drinks was about $60 (pre-tip) -- not bad for a captive audience! We could have stayed in our seats for the fireworks, but the lights in the restaurant reflect off the plate glass windows and thus, I expect, would impede the view. Better to step outside.

Respectable food. All-female sushi chefs were great inspiration to my kid. The sushi was good. Some of the other stuff was just ok. Killer view out across Epcot's lake. A reservation during Illuminations would be worth it, but I don't think I would revisit this place again. I will say that we had an awesome server who was so kind to our daughter (made her origami to take home, and really seemed caring and interested in making a connection-- attentive and lovely). But aside from the female sushi line, the great service, and the view, everything else is just mediocre.

My wife and I had the sushi platter for our entree as part of our 3 course prix fixe meal. It's probably not the best sushi around. It looks like it's pre-made judging by the 3-deep "manufacturing line" of women in gloves plating sushi. My wife had the stewed pork belly as her appetizer and that was fantastic. My unagi roll was just okay. The ambience is nice. We got a table right next to the window so we overlook the lake and then people outside. If you don't get a window table, then it's average. Stick to the cook food. Nothing wrong with the sushi, I just think the cooked food will be more enjoyable. Probably get better value eating elsewhere.

My favorite sushi restaurant in Orlando by far. I travel to Orlando a lot for work and decided stray away from Teppan Edo and get some sushi at Tokyo Dining. My husband and I were seated at a table overlooking the World Showcase Lagoon - beautiful and my hubby liked watching the fireworks barges getting driven into place for the show later on that night. I love sashimi and theirs was perfect - served ice cold and great cuts. I also enjoyed their rainbow roll and chocolate ginger cake. Excellent service from start to finish.

**3.5 stars** Sushi is OK- the price is good for a Disney restaurant and there's a wide selection, but the nigiri and sashimi was not as fresh as it could have been. There's also hibachi on the other side of the restaurant if you're not a fan of sushi. The awesome thing about this place is the service. Our waitress was super nice (she probably said "thank you" 3x/sentence and we did not have to wait for anything. Also, if you get a window seat, the view of the center lake is awesome!

Can I give this place six stars? Our family lives just outside of Las Vegas, so we know good dining experiences and this is by far one of my top three ever! You will definitely want to get reservations for this INCREDIBLE Japanese restaurant as it is usually busy at dinner time! The customer service is unparalleled. You almost feel undeserving of their hospitality and on-point service. Everything is done with style and flair and the food is just otherworldly! Even the kids menu has style and substance you won't find in most other Disney restaurants. They have general seating as well as rooms with hibachi grills (which we must try next time)! The kids loved their shrimp and chicken tempura meals (that come with rice, veggies and miso soup) that come in an adorable airplane tray, and my husband and I shared some sushi and sashimi platters and everything was done perfectly. If you love Japanese food, YOU MUST GO HERE! It is worth every single penny.

We probably won't be back. I'm kind of surprised by the high reviews. Living in Los Angeles, we go to Japanese restaurants A LOT and eat sushi almost once a week. We have some pretty amazing places back home and Tokyo Dining just kind of disappointed. Definitely nothing special. Also, they are strict about the menu and don't allow for any substitutions --- even if you offer to pay more! We wanted to order the spicy roll without cucumbers and they wouldn't let us... so strange. If the food is made fresh, then I don't understand why they can't just leave something out... Sushi places are usually really cool about substitutions since they have to make each order by hand anyways.. it was just kind of odd to me. I'd recommend this place maybe if you've never tried sushi before -- otherwise, I really don't get what the fuss is about.

The restaurant gets very busy for dinner so definitely get reservations. The sushi was very good and well balanced. (not too much fish or rice) It is actually the first time I have ever seen female sushi chefs and I go for sushi a LOT. We also had some very good sashimi that melted in your mouth as it should! The bento box with steak and tempura was excellent, my only complaint would be that the Miso soup did not have tofu.

This is probably my favorite restaurant in Epcot. My experiences in restaurants in Disney World were not great until I ran into Tokyo Dining. I saw a female sushi chef for the first time which was interesting. Those who work there were actually Japanese and spoke the language, too, which impressed me. My friend ended up getting the grilled salmon entree, which was cooked well, it was moist and quite tasty. My favorite was my own dish, the beef mignon. It was cooked medium rare (at my request) and it was quite tasty. However, my sister ended up getting the chicken entree, but it turned out dry--I would advise those to stay away from that dish however. The layout and the atmosphere of this restaurant was quite tasteful, comfortable, and welcoming. Especially since we at dinner around 8ish, we were also able to watch the firework show up from the building. This restaurant is worth going to!

Serene dining space on the upper level of the Japan pavillion- large space that is connected with the Hibachi restaurant. I was so calm and zen after about an hour in the restaurant space, looking out the windows over the Japanese drum demonstration and the rest of Epcot. I wish I was able to make a dinner reservation here, so I could view the fireworks on the lake b/c it is probably the best view. You will start with a warm towel, that is given with a bit of pomp and circumstance...the server goes into a bit of an explanation of the warm towel ritual before sushi. Seriously, Disney...it's a hand towel. I had a Bento box lunch special for $19- it included miso soup, cold salmon salad on cucumber slices & lettuce leaves, 4 small california rolls, some type of shredded beef that comes with a beef rice, and chicken katsu cutlets. It is a good amount of food, and though not overly outstanding or authentic, it was tasty and portions were filling. My friend ordered the Chicken Teriyaki lunch special, which was pronounced tasty as well. The rest of the menu will seem pretty limited if you are an avid sushi lover, but there are plenty of options all the same. I would have come to the Japan pavilion solely for the green tea soft serve ice cream- it is creamy and refreshing. The soft serve (which you can choose green tea, vanilla or swirl of both) came with the lunch special and totally hit the spot on a hot day. Service is Japanese caricature- it may be what tourists think of when they think of Japan...Disney does tend to ham it up a bit in the World Showcase when it comes to service. You'll find yourself bowing your head multiple times in response to how many times the servers bow to you.

I asked for restaurant recommendations from a Mitsukoshi worker and the lady recommended Tokyo Dining. Ordered beef yakiniku and bento box. They give you hot towel after you sit down. Beef yakiniku lunch special ($19.00): I am a fan of beef yakiniku and this one is the worst I've ever had. I never had breaded beef yakiniku before and the beef was borderline tasteless and super chewy. Beef yakiniku lunch special came with miso soup and soft serve ice cream. The miso soup was just okay. My green tea and vanilla swirled ice cream was the best part of my lunch. Bento box with tempura and beef sukiyaki ($29.95): the beef sukiyaki was much better than the beef yakiniku. The tempura was edible. QUICK TIP: LOCATED AT JAPAN PAVILION, ANNUAL PASS DISCOUNT IS ACCEPTED HERE. Service is friendly but overly attentive. 2 stars!! Tokyo Dining is not yummylicious!!

I decided to go to Tokyo Dining for the first time due to it being part of Tables In Wonderland and the good reviews I have read online. With Tables In Wonderland, the free parking is a great value and I love saving 20% off our total food and alcohol purchase. Our Disney passes are almost blacked out for the summer, and this was always on the list of places to try. I made the reservation online for noon which was right as they open. Knowing these restaurants have been here awhile, I was impressed with how updated and modern the restaurants felt inside. We were seated at the window, which is a nice advantage to booking at opening. Both Tokyo Dining and Teppan Edo are beautiful restaurants. The atmosphere is nicer at Tokyo Dining, due to the open layout and having a view of the lake and park. Teppan Edo has the tables in rooms off of the hallway, so you don't get to enjoy the sunshine as much. Even though you are inside Epcot, the time you will spend here will be memorable and a relaxing detour. The staff is extremely welcoming and friendly. The service integrates the Japanese hospitality culture which is nice. They will make you feel appreciated and happy, thats for sure! The food was great and the portions were plenty. What makes lunch an even better deal is the $19 lunch specials. I thought the lunch portions would be scaled back and debated on ordering an appetizer or sushi. I did not, and that is the correct choice because your lunch comes out on basically a serving tray. I had the beef yakiniku and I would recommend it. The garlic sweet ginger soy sauce was delicious. The beef was lightly fried but still tender and crispy. It was really good and came with mixed veggies. The $19 lunch special also comes with miso soup, beef friend rice, noodles and pickled cucumbers. If that wasn't enough, lunch also comes with green tea, vanilla or swirl soft serve ice cream. Kirin is $6.50 which is reasonable considering where you are and Epcot beer prices. If you are a Tables in Wonderland member you will get 20% off everything, which has to make this the best value for lunch at a full-service restaurant in Epcot.

Good place for sushi or habachi. Lots of stairs to climb to get in. Lol Food was good. Not super filling but just enough to satisfy. I can't remember what I had. Maybe a bento box of some sort. Nevertheless. You can't go wrong being on the coast and ordering fish.

Yummy!!!! Great stuff needed to hit it a second time before heading home. If you like sushi you need to make this one of your Epcot stops.

The food at Tokyo dining is mediocre at best. There meats were over cooked and dry. I think the best thing that they serve was the kids meals. My son ordered a kids chicken teriyaki and they was the best thing that we ordered. If you want to eat at Epcot and you want Japanese food I would recommend eating at Teppen Edo, the other restaurant in Japan.

Yes, yes, yes!!! For those who love sushi, this place will not disappoint - yes, the offerings are very simple, but the quality is superb. After all, the true base of "sushi" is the rice, and this is nailed by the staff. We had NO problems with being seated on time, and actually were impressed with their tolerance of US being late! Don't waste time and expense with Tuna, because Tokyo dining is as limited as the rest of the restaurants in the world with that. Salmon, yellowtail, and our rolls were as tasty as I've had. This is the BEST place to enjoy the firework show along the EPCOT lake.. Difficult to make good reservations based on time, but you should enjoy accordingly, because aside from being lakeside, this is the best seat in the house. Take advantage of your Rosetta Stone or translation book because the hosts are most gracious, and will acknowledge your attempts to engage them in their culture - it is fun and respectful to make an effort. Delicious! Totemo oishii!!! おいしい!!!!

Great food, very clean, modern atmosphere, nice place to refresh your energy while at Epcot. The California Rolls are very good, the Teriyaki very flavorful & Green Tea Ice-Cream refreshing.

This is my favorite place to eat in Epcot. I brought my boyfriend here for our first time eating sushi together. He ordered a volcano roll, a towering supply of sushi with spicy mayo drizzled over the top. I ordered the spicy tuna crunch roll, which is my favorite roll in general, but for Disney it's great because it's cheaper than most sushi places! When booking a reservation, see if you can try to snag a table near the windows around 7:50-8:10 and stay for the fireworks at 9. They dim the lights and play Illuminations in the restaurant and you can see the fireworks from your seat!

The food is pretty good (not the most amazing tepanyaki you'll find though) the entertainment from the chefs and the atmosphere is what makes it a great dining experience, Disney has an amazing way of developing these themed restaurants especially in World Showcase in Epcot. I LOVED my birthday celebration with the candles & song that involves the whole section of the restaurant your in - good fun. Not to mention the Chocolate ginger Cake was soooo delicious. Our server was extremely sweet but hey that's Disney for you We Will definitely be back !

This place was great! ** Make reservations way in advance! I went with a group of 5 and we were seated fairly quickly. The drink menu was way more exciting than any other sushi place that I've seen, and the menu had a lot to choose from. I chose to get a Bento box, and it was actually one of the best I've ever had. Everything was fresh and cooked to perfection, and there was a LOT of food. Normally the restaurants in Disney aren't super amazing, because who goes there just for the food anyway? But i was impressed by this place, and would definitely come back.

Great choice to eat at in Epcot! We went for lunch on a Saturday. I find it strange that it doesn't open till 12 p.m. We got there at 11:45 a.m. and ended up hanging out in the gift shop downstairs until noon. There was a free standing reservation booth downstairs that you check in at and then take the card upstairs. At noon there was a tiny procession welcoming the guests to the restaurant. After that we were seated right away. One of the nice things about getting seated first is a table at the giant windows looking over the water. They have a couple lunch specials. I got the Chirashi Zushi which came with miso soup and soft serve ice cream. Honestly, I think for the price it was pretty similar to what I would get outside of Disney. There was a bunch of roe in the dish! I really enjoyed it. My fiancé got the chicken teriyaki entree. There were two chicken breasts and they give you the sauce on the side. I've never seen it like that, but my fiancé enjoyed it. Overall the meal cost us about $60 (including tip). Yes it is a little pricey, but I enjoyed this meal and would come back.

Me and hubby love this place. The restaurant offers sit-down table service or the grill in the back where you watch them cook your food and perform, etc. We haven't done the grill yet but table service is still good. This place has awesome sushi and that's what we usually like to get. The rolls are big and you get a lot for your money. I also love the shrimp tempura and the chocolate ginger cake. Try to get here when Illuminations starts. We've had window seats while watching and it was fabulous. We also ate here on our honeymoon and they made us feel special. This is a favorite restaurant for us here at World Showcase.

I loved this place! I had never eaten in Tokyo Dining before since, when I used to do the parks with my family, we never stopped in. When I went with my husband recently, we decided to try this place out since the two of us love sushi. When walking up the stairs to the entrance, I noticed a woman quickly hurrying by us. Turns out she was doing this in order to hold the door open for us. Every single worker here was ultra-polite and very kind. We loved the service. We had a lovely window table and I had the Sake-rita (yum!). For food, we split the tempura appetizer (shrimp was easily the best one) and I got the eel roll to eat. My husband ordered a shrimp tempura roll and a philly roll. We cleaned our plates. The prices were decent and it was a very simple and elegant looking restaurant. Hardly any children there during lunch which also helped make it relaxing.

Definitely had a nice time here. Fun atmosphere and a good sushi too. I was pleasantly surprised when they started giving a live demonstration on their tv screen on how to make a sushi roll Especially since it will be my next self-culinary test. They also invited customers to play a game in order to win the sushi for free! My only downfall was that the look of my sushi wasn't the normal style and grace that you come to expect from the Japanese culture. Seemed a little thrown together to me. Good experience overall.
